How We Work
Safety & Quality
How SYGMA approaches demanding work — from pre-project planning through final inspection.
Safety Planning & Training
Every SYGMA project begins with a site-specific safety plan that addresses the hazards present on that job — working at height, confined spaces, lead exposure, and environmental conditions. Our workers receive training in surface preparation, coating application, lead abatement procedures, and the use of personal protective equipment. Safety is a condition of employment, not an afterthought.
Environmental Protection & Containment
Bridge work over water and roadways requires rigorous containment to prevent blast media, paint debris, and hazardous waste from reaching the environment. SYGMA installs and maintains containment systems that meet permit requirements and are inspected throughout the project. Air monitoring during lead abatement work protects both workers and the public.
Surface Preparation & Coating Quality Control
Coating performance depends on surface preparation. SYGMA verifies surface cleanliness and profile before any coating is applied, and monitors application conditions — temperature, humidity, and dew point — throughout the work. Dry film thickness is measured and documented at each coat to confirm compliance with the project specification.
Inspection & Documentation
SYGMA maintains project records that support owner inspection and regulatory compliance. Daily logs, surface preparation records, coating application data, and waste disposal documentation are kept for every project. We work cooperatively with owner inspectors and third-party coating inspection firms.
Certifications & Memberships
SYGMA maintains the certifications and affiliations appropriate to the work we perform. Specific current certifications and memberships will be listed here once confirmed. We do not publish credentials that are not current and verified.
